The main function of ITB’s internet service is daily information traffic as well as facilitating the exchange of information in the field of research with other institutions. ITB is facilitated by several Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and TEIN4 as a liaison for ITB’s research connections with other universities inside and outside the country.
The following is the computer network speed data at the Bandung Institute of Technology :
ITB connection to the Internet
- Global: 2450 Mb
- IIX + Equinix: 2450 Mb
- Backup: 500 Mb
- TEIN (RnD Network): 1000 Mb
- Total internet connection: 6400 Mb
ITB Internal Network
- Ganesha Internal Backbone: 10 Gbps
- Access Network in Ganesha: 1 Gbps
- Ganesha to Jatinangor connection: 1 Gbps (under maintenance), 500 Mbps backup via Indosat
- Access Network in Jatinangor: 1 Gbps

For research and education purposes, the ITB network is part of the Indonesia Higher Education Network (INHERENT) with other universities in Indonesia. In addition, ITB has also joined The Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN) for the purposes of research and
education communication to universities abroad.
Video conferencing activities held at ITB are generally in the form of distance lectures between ITB and partner universities, both at home and abroad, one of which is SOI activities. Apart from lectures, video conferencing can also be used for final project or thesis sessions or meeting activities. This video conference activity utilizes education and research networks that are connected to ITB, both nationally (INHERENT) and internationally (TEIN3 and AI3). There are several rooms that have been specially prepared for Video Conference purposes (dedicated), namely Studio-1 and Studio-2 TVST Floor 2 (managed by USDI) and the American Corner Room in the Library (managed by the Library). These rooms have been equipped with the necessary equipment for Video Conference activities. In addition, FTTM also has its own teleconference/video conference facility which can be used for remote lectures, or for other purposes via mobile. This facility has been tested with several universities abroad and the results are quite satisfactory. With the equipment that supports distance learning, FTTM is ready to support ITB to become a World Class University.
