Undergraduate Program
The lectures in Mining Engineering Program were performed by three (3) main methods: face-to-face in class, individual assignments, lab work and field study (excursion). Number of meetings held mostly ranged from 14-16 weeks in accordance with the number of weeks available and have been adapted to the allocation of time determined by the Directorate of Education, ITB. Petroleum Engineering Program is designed for 8 semesters (4 years) with a maximum permitted time studies is 6 years. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for professional careers in the upstream petroleum industry. The first six semesters of the curriculum consist of courses that is prepared to provide students with basic knowledge and skills for limited engineering problems. Generally, the curriculum of 2013 in Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering Department is divided into two stages, namely: Tahap Pertama Bersama consist of 2 semesters, with 36 credits. To participate in Master Program of Petroleum Engineering, students need to have educational background equivalent to Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering. Students with different educational background with excellent performance are also acceptable, as long as they passes certain selection including interviews conducted by the department. After passed, these students must take supplementary courses for 12 credits (3 courses + lab activity) which specifically created and must be taken before the start of the master program.
