FTTM ITB Conducts Fire Safety Drill at Labtek IV North Building
In an effort to enhance emergency preparedness and strengthen awareness of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) among the academic community, the Mining Engineering Study Program and Metallurgical Engineering Study Program of FTTM ITB, in collaboration with ITB’s K3L Unit (Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment), organized a safety drill in the form of a fire simulation on Friday, 6 February 2026. The activity took place at the Labtek IV North Building and involved various building occupants.

The drill was conducted based on a scenario of a fire outbreak at the Solid Oxide System (SOS) Laboratory located on the 3rd floor. During the simulation, each floor captain, under the coordination of the building captain, played an active role in guiding and evacuating building users in an orderly manner according to established procedures. All occupants were directed to follow the designated evacuation routes, while the emergency situation was promptly reported to the K3L team through ITB’s emergency hotline: 0809-100-1920.
Within a short time, the fire brigade and an ambulance arrived at the location to carry out emergency response procedures, including victim evacuation and fire suppression. This safety drill served as a valuable hands-on learning experience for the academic community in responding to emergency situations, understanding evacuation routes and procedures, and fostering a greater sense of safety while carrying out activities within the campus environment.

Through this safety drill, FTTM ITB hopes to further strengthen the emergency response capabilities of the campus community, improve overall preparedness, and continuously promote a strong safety culture in both academic and operational activities.
